…there isn’t enough time in a day? Wouldn’t it be great to have an extra day each week to take part in all the exciting and innovative projects taking place in and around Brixton?
Well, we’re feeling a bit like that today! After a good turn out at Lambeth Country show on the weekend and speaking to some other brilliant projects including Incredible Edible Lambeth and Brixton Energy, we visited Bristol yesterday evening for the launch of the Bristol Pound. We were proud of the fact that Bristol is following in our footsteps to launch a currency that will support local independent businesses and keep Bristol diverse and distinct.
Visiting their launch also made us reminisce about our launch nearly three years ago. Yes, that’s right – we’ll be three years old at the end of this month (hooray!) To celebrate, we’re planning a number of fun and informative events over the next few weeks. Get the dates into your calendar and help us celebrate in style.
- Lunchtime Payroll Local Q&A at Healthy Eaters, Friday 28th Sept from 12-2pm
- Brixton Give and Take Market – Brixton Station Road – Saturday Sept 29th – 1pm
- B£ and TTB Film Evening – screening ‘In Transition 2.0′ along with opening shorts, Transition Centre 6-8 Robsart Street, Sunday 30th September at 7:00pm
- Transition Town Brixton Shared Space evening, Loughborough Centre, SW9 7PD on Monday 1st October, 7pm
- Birthday Social and Payroll Local Social, Market House, Tuesday 2nd October 7:00pm. Cake and refreshments will be served!
Without your wonderful support we wouldn’t be here today!
If you’ve not used the Brixton Pound before or been involved with any of our projects, there couldn’t be a better time to get involved! Please come along to one of our events and help make Brixton stronger!
